Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara Review

My sister recently acquired an Estee Lauder kit (no idea what kind, I didn't ask questions) and offloaded a couple of the products to me. One of the products I managed to score was the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about trying this product to begin with. Why? Because 1. I was quite happy with the mascara I'd been using 2. I hate trialling expensive products in case I really like them. Anyway I gave it a try and, unfortunately (but really it's fortunately), I fell in love with it.
Keep reading to find out why I  think it's almost worth the $48.00AUD price tag.

This brush has a traditional mascara wand (I tend to refer to them as pipe cleaner wands) which I normally don't gravitate to, however this wand is amazing. As you can see from the image above, the mascara gave my lashes curl and length, leaving them look absolutely amazing. Granted I do have quite long lashes anyway, but have a look at how long it makes my lashes!

The formula of this mascara isn't overly wet or dry. It's basically perfect. It glides on beautifully and layers well, something that's very important to me. I like to be able to apply two to three coats of mascara without seeing any evidence of clumping. Clumping to me is like a foundation line; a huge make up faux pas.

The Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara is incredibly pigmented. I have the mascara in black and love how full and defined it makes my lashes look!

Finally, this mascara applies to the bottom lashes very easily. With my Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara dried out, I've gone back to using my upper lash mascara on my bottom lashes. A few of the mascaras in my collection transfers to my under eye area, something that's definitely unpleasant. This mascara, however, doesn't do that at all. Your morning lashes look exactly like your night lashes.

All in all, I think this mascara is absolutely incredible, but also very similar to the Almay Get Up & Grow mascara that I fell in love with but never reviewed. If you can afford the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara, I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful product and something I'll definitely treat myself to in the future.

At the moment you can find this in an Estee Lauder kit for the same price as the individual mascara, $48.00. To see the kit, click here. The kit also contains two gifts, a 10 day supply of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Eye and a 30mL deluxe travel size sample of the Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover.

Have you tried this? Let me know! Do you have any mascara recommendations? I've been venturing out lately so would love to know what you're loving.

Always look your best,
Sophie

    1. hehe oh no I must have said something rude :P just kidding!
I've always wanted to try a high end mascara but like you I'm scared in case I love it. I adored Benefit They're Real but haven't had it in sooo long because it's so expensive.
Your lashes look amazing with this mascara! Such a winner :)

  2. It will work for any headlights that have residue on them. The toothpaste works as an abrasive and just helps to get the residue off. best waterproof mascara top coat
