Late last year I was sent the Bellápierre Get Started Kit. I've wanted to try products from Bellápierre Cosmetics, a mineral make up cosmetics company, for a long time so it was such a fantastic opportunity.
"Bellápierre, the next generation of mineral make up, have created 'Get Start'ed; the ultimate kit to help women achieve exactly what they want out of mineral make up. The Get Started Kit is designed to educate women about the advantages of mineral make up and to give them the confidence to achieve the flawless, natural look they desire with Bellápierre. The kit contains all the essential products needed to get started with the Bellápierre range, including two shades of 5-in-1 foundation for year-round coverage and an instructional DVD which explains exactly what products to use and how to use them."
- BellápierreGiven I'm so pale, I'm sure it's no surprise that I got this kit in 'Fair'. The Bellápierre Get Started Kit in Fair contains the following.
Bellápierre Mineral Foundation in Ivory 4g | Bellápierre Mineral Foundation in Latte 4g | Bellápierre Mineral Blush in Desert Rose 4g | Bellápierre Mineral Bronzer in Peony 4g | All Over Powder Brush | Angle Blush Brush | Concealer Brush | Instructional DVD
Bellápierre Mineral Foundation in Ivory | Bellápierre Mineral Foundation in Latte | Bellápierre Mineral Bronzer in Peony | Bellápierre Mineral Blush in Desert Rose
I wanted to include swatches of all the cosmetic products included in the kit as a reference point, especially for all you pale ladies.
Now that I've told you everything about this kit, let's get the review started! At the end of this post I'll be telling you how you can get this amazing kit at a fantastic price so don't forget to check it out!
In a nutshell, I like the Bellápierre Get Started Kit a lot more than I expected. The two Mineral Foundations in this kit mean that it suits my skin tone all year round. In my pale months I use Ivory and in my more tanned months I use Latte. The beauty of mineral foundations in that when I'm somewhere in between the two colours, much like now, I can easily mix the two together.
Before owning the Bellápierre Mineral Foundation I hadn't really used mineral foundation much. Given that I was new to the product type, it took me a while to find a technique of application I was happy with. To use the Bellápierre Mineral Foundation as a setting powder for my liquid foundation, I dust and buff it all over my face using a Real Techniques Kabuki Brush. The powder almost sticks to liquid foundation too well so it's important to let the liquid set on your face for a couple of minutes before applying the mineral foundation. To use it as my foundation, I first pat Bellápierre Mineral Foundation under my eye eyes using the Bellápierre Concealer Brush. If I feel like I have very dark under eye circles, I will first apply a light concealer and set it with the Bellápierre Mineral Foundation. After that, I apply the product much like I do when I'm setting liquid foundation. Instead of using a Real Techniques Kabuki Brush, however, I use the Bellápierre All Over Powder Brush to apply it. I rarely use concealer with this product because I mainly use it on days when I'm trying to look more natural so I don't mind if a little redness shows through.

As you can see from the images above, the Bellápierre Mineral Foundation has great coverage. Being a powder, it's quite buildable and, given that it's such a finely milled powder, it doesn't 'cake' easily. I'm a fan of full coverage foundation, however I'm happy to leave the house wearing only Bellápierre Mineral Foundation as my make up base.
The brushes in this kit are great. They're a lot more dense and stiff than brushes I'm used to but, when working with a loose powder product, I think they're absolutely perfect. I've tried the Bellápierre Mineral Foundation with a couple of different brushes now and I definitely prefer the Bellápierre All Over Powder Brush to apply it with. Whilst I only use the concealer and all over powder brushes for the mineral cosmetics, the Angle Blush Brush has become my go to contour brush. It applies product fantastically and it so precise.
I like the Bellápierre Mineral Bronzer and Mineral Blush in the kit but the Mineral Foundations are definitely the stars for me. The blush is beautiful but I haven't worn it much yet. I'm not sure why but I feel like it will be a perfect winter blush. The product I use least in the kit is the bronzer. This product isn't a bronzer, it's more of a highlight, so I need to be very careful about when and how I apply it. I do, however, have a Bellápierre Mineral Bronzer that I absolutely love!
Finally, I want to tell you a little bit about the wear and oil control of this product. This mineral foundation contains a small amount of what I could only call shimmer, ensuring that the face doesn't look one dimensional after applying it. Whilst I love the finish it provides to my skin, it definitely doesn't minimise shine like other products I'm used to. For this reason, I would recommend this product to people with oily skin in the cooler months only. I find that it works for me all year round, purely because my oil is quite minimal these days. Those with normal/dry skin, this product will be fantastic for you all year round! I recommend this product to people of all skin tones during winter. The shimmer in the product will provide some depth to your skin, ensuring that it doesn't look dry. I also find this product works extremely well when used in conjunction with the Bellápierre Foundation Primer.
All in all, I'm really happy with this product and so grateful I've had the opportunity to try it. Not only have I tried it, but I've fallen in love with it. Also, stay tuned! On Friday I'll be uploading a super exciting promotion for all my fantastic readers thanks to Bellápierre! If you're interested in this kit, this promotion will be for you!
