Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin REVIEW

SOURCE
If you read my Base Make Up Collection post, you'll know that the original Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream did not impress me. Everything about the product, from the coverage to the finish, disappointed me. In saying that, however, I'm so happy to report that I am more than in love with the Combination to Oily skin formula.
"The daily All-In-One solution corrects, protects, unifies, hydrates and mattifies in one application with instant and lasting results. Its unique oil-free formula, with ultra-absorbent perlite is specially designed to help control all day long. If effectively minimises the appearance of pores and imperfections for a visible improvement in skin texture. Its lightweight and comfortable text with an optimal coverage blends perfectly into the skin without the heaviness of a foundation.
The SPF 15 UV filter helps protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun."
- Garnier
The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for Combination to Oily has become one of my staple beauty products, being used as often as my high end foundations and bases.

Before and After applying Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for
Combination to Oily Skin

As you can see from the photos above, this product has fantastic coverage (I hope to take better, brighter photos to upload in the place of these). I find that a small amount of the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for Combination to Oily skin provides me with excellent coverage. The coverage isn't as high as that of a foundation (Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation for example), but it's one of the highest coverage non foundation products I've ever tried.

For a colour reference, I use this product in 'Light' and I wear NC/NW20 in MAC.

This product has one of the the thinest formulas I've ever worked with. The super thin formula blends seamlessly into the skin, providing excellent coverage with very little product. Should I feel that I need more product, an extra layer can be worked into the skin without looking cakey.

For great coverage with a natural finish, I like to use my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush. I find the brush distributes the product perfectly.

The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for Combination to Oily skin dries matte, yet doesn't look drying; a combination that I would think appeals to most people, especially those with combination/oily skin.

When used with a primer, this BB cream lasts all day for me. I often apply it at 7am and wear it for a good 10/12 hours, finding it barely ages in that timeframe.

As I'm sure you can tell, this product is an all round winner to me and I would recommend it to everyone. If you're thinking of giving it a try, at $15.00AUD you have nothing to lose!

Have you tried this product? What did you think of it? Were you as disappointed as I was by the original formula?

Always look your best,
Sophie

    1. Really, Natasha? That's such a shame! Could you mix it with a lighter foundation/bb cream? Well, I guess you could but that would defeat the purpose. :( x

  2. I love this BB cream as well. The first time I used it, it was far too dark, but that was because I underestimated its coverage. It is far better than the original BB cream by Garnier.

    I love reading your blog!

    1. Hi, Lu, it's such a great product. I'm so glad you were able to make the colouring work for you. It would be such a shame for it not to work for you. I definitely agree about the original BB cream though, that really disappointed me!

Thanks for you kind words too. x

  3. I have this and I do prefer the formula to the original, but I really don't use it often enough to write a full review on it as I'm afraid of breakouts! My skin doesn't seem to take to BB creams too well!

    xx

    1. The formula is so much better, isn't it? I've heard similar feedback from everyone, even those who don't identify as having combination/oily skin. Interesting, isn't it? I'm not sure if this will help but I don't break out from this product.
