Bellapierre Foundation Primer Review

"Bellapierre paraben free foundation primer was developed to treat dryness, fine lines, excess oil and enlarged pores. Our mineral infused formula glides on with no tacky feel to provide a skin soothing complexion prior to applying Bellapierre mineral foundation for a seamlessly flawless face."

As someone with combination/oily skin I rely on a foundation primer to control oil and prolong the wear of my make up, especially foundation. Having used this product randomly since receiving it a few months ago, I finally committed to using it after my Benefit The POREfessional sample ran out.

After using this product for a couple of days, I'm not sure why I didn't start using it sooner. I really like it. I guess that's what happens when you have SO many products, hey?

This foundation primer has the ability to glide on with such ease that it almost seems 'too easy'. Before you all think I'm crazy, no, I am definitely not complaining! It smoothes so nicely over the skin, filling in small lines and pores to create an even surface for makeup application.

After using the Bellapierre Foundation Primer, I find that my foundation applies so smoothly and blending becomes so easy. It's almost as though it's blending into the primer, rather than my skin, to create a smooth and flawless finish (depending on the foundation, of course).

It's easy to apply too much of this product. Why? Simply because a little goes such a long way. A smaller-than-a-pea sized amount of this product is enough to cover my (some could say large) head.

For me, the big test for a foundation primer is whether it helps my make up to last all day. For this primer, the answer is a big yes! This foundation primer definitely prolongs the wear of my foundation by a good few hours. Not only does it prolong the wear of the foundation, but I feel as though it controlled and/or minimised the amount of oil I produced and, therefore, how often I reapplied powder throughout the day.

I have tried Bellapierre Foundation Primer with a couple of foundations and, although my new favourite foundation is the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, I feel it works best with a combination of NARS Sheer Glow and MAC Studio Fix (only combined because my NARS foundation is far too light for me). I'm not sure what it is about this combination but it just, well, works. I really like it.

I use this foundation primer as a part of my normal Foundation Routine, with everything else staying the same. I'm yet to try this primer with the Bellapierre Mineral Foundation alone, however I will definitely keep you guys informed on what I think about that.

The only complaint I have about this product is the packaging. I don't like tubs. It doesn't seem hygienic. Given the consistency of this primer, however, I have no alternative so let's just look past it.

This product retails for $99.00 which yes, I know, can sound like a lot. When you think about how little is needed, however, it doesn't seem quite so expensive! It's definitely something I would suggest purchasing and something I will consider repurchasing when this tub runs out. This primer can be purchased online at the Official Bellapierre website. Have you tried any Bellapierre products in the past? I've been so happy with everything I've tried that I'm going to have to try some more, I think!
