Angry Eyebrows

August 07, 2012 | , , , , , , , ,
So, everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle and I'd love some help/advice. Why? Because I have very angry eyebrows. Two out of the last three times I've had my eyebrows waxed (gotta get rid of the monobrow somehow, right?) the skin that has been waxed has broken out. Can anyone help?

On Sunday, August 5, I had the top and bottom of my brows waxed, as well as the middle, and it's happened again! Although I have the whole area waxed, the top and bottom seems to be where the biggest break out it.

The first time it happened I thought the wax was too hot but it was a lot cooler this time and it's happened again. To be honest, it may not even be an actual 'break out', but it's red, bumpy and angry.

I'm not sure if this happens to anyone else but I'd sure love to know! Has it happened to you? What did you do about it? Even if it hasn't happened to you, can you share any insight? Also, I'm thinking of getting my eyebrows threaded next time. Do you think that might be better for me?

All advice is welcome!

  1. Chuck some Full of Grace on it. You got a bar right? It'll help soothe it. Also wash it with some Aqua Marina. The calamine is mega soothing. Hope it helps!

  2. Don't quote me, but I believe that pimples can be caused by the tiny hairs growing back in as ingrown hairs, its more common on legs, backs etc than the face, but I can't see why they same principles wouldn't apply? So I guess maybe exfoliation or something or i don't really know, this is where my help ends, I just remember an old friend doing beauty therepy saying you get ingrown hair pimples...

  3. Don't get them waxed all the time. I only get mine done to get them shaped and then I just tweezer the ones that start to grow.

They are probably ingrown hairs. Try putting some of that Caron cream from Lust Have It on that area (even though it's made for the body).

  4. that just looks painful :/ If you're sensitive to pain, get a tiny razor and shave the top of your brows, but pluck the bottom part. cute blog girl :)

  5. Have you ever tried threading? Works wonders for me.

  6. Oh wow, ignore my previous comment. I didn't read the full post.
Threading is great, for me at least. I used to have the same problem with waxing and I'd get the same break out kind of thing but I don't with threading. It just weirded me out the first, it doesn't actually hurt but the sound of the thread being pulled tight and pulling your hair out is a little odd.

  7. It might be the moisturizer they put on after waxing thats causing it?

  8. Hi sophie that looks painful :/
I have always been told threading is much more gentle than waxing so i would give that a go. Waxing is more harsh because of the tugging at the skin. What i would do with the red spots now is probably very gently exfoliate then moisturize but you just want to be really gentle and not agitate the skin furthrr. Just my 2 cents worth X
