Bellabox July, 2012

My second Bellabox arrived today and far out, it was so full! There were so many things in this month's box and I'm sure that each subscriber found one or two things that really appealed to them.
As you can see from the image above, this months box wasn't packaged in a traditional Bellabox. Instead, it came in a small blue bag. It was exciting to find that the contents of the box didn't all fit inside the bag (yes, there was THAT much). Instead, some of the products were packaged around the bag and inside the mailing box. Confusing? Yes, I think so!

I only received this box today, so I'm unable to review the products. Instead, I'll type out the information provided to me so you're able to get some insight into the items. If possible, I'll also include my initial thoughts.
You, Me & Everybody Shady Lady Daily Face Milk - RRP $9.99 for 75mL
I received a full size moisturiser
"Apply this skin-quenching moisturiser generously not clean and dry skin for a light and soft touch. Including sun protection, it's perfect for wear under make up."
This couldn't come at a better time for me. As much as I hate to mix up my face routine (for a full skincare routine, click here), I'm in need of a moisturiser or suncream with a high SPF in preparation for summer. This face milk has an SPF of 30 and feels light on the skin, so I'm hoping this will be my summer saviour.
Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm - RRP $5.99 for a 10g tube
I received a full sized lip balm
"With its targeted, free flowing and easy application, feel the soothing ingredients of Carmex Lip Balm coat your lips for the softest pout in town! Apply with ease in just one simple squeeze."
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of this products. As much as I like products like this (e.g. Blistex), I've been steering clear of lip products with menthol in them, as it irritates dry lips and totally defeats the purpose of the product. However, in saying this, I gave it a try and I do like it. I have given this product to my Mum, a big fan of Blistex, to keep in her bag, as I found the result to be very similar.
Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser - RRP $13.99 for 175g
I received a full sized cleanser
"Skin looks and feel soft and smooth after just one use of the Foaming Cleanser, which deeply cleans pores to awaken the skin and sense."
This product is going straight to my giveaway drawer. Given that I'm really happy with my skincare routine at the moment, I'm really apprehensive about trying new products. I love the way my LUSH cleanser combination works with my skin, so I will definitely be giving this product a miss.
Bourjois Smoky Pencil - RRP $20.00
I received a full sized eyeliner in #72 Dark Purple
"The soft, easy-to-blend tip of this pop coloured liner glides along the lash line for an intense outline in one stroke. Plus, the ultra-soft brush perfectly smudges the formula."
I'm a big fan of using a coloured eyeliner or shadow underneath my lower lash line at the moment and, with that in mind, I think this will come in handy. Although the colour is a very dark purple, I think it will work well, especially with a vibrant eyeshadow over the top.
Mode Glitter Nail Enamel - RRP $2.45 for 15mL
I received a full sized nail polish in Kiss and Tell
"After the basic clear topcoat, every girl needs a bright and fun polish for when she is feeling a little daring. bb loves Mode Glitter Nail Enamel for a solid glitter coverage. Best of all? At these prices you can collect every colour!"
I'm undecided about this product. Although I'm trying to be more adventurous with my nail polish, I'm not sure if a bright red and glittery polish is for me. This product will either be kept by me or put in the giveaway drawer. We'll see!
Almay Get Up and Grow Mascara - RRP $19.95
I received a full sized mascara in blackest black
"The anti-breakage pro-vitamin formula defends against lash damage, helping yours to grow to their longest . The gentle formula also means it's safe on sensitive eyes."
As you all know, Max Factor's Lash Extension Effect mascara is my holy grail mascara. Although I have 9 sealed tubes ready to go, the product has been discontinued and, at some point, I must find a replacement. Although I doubt this will ever replace the Max Factor's Lash Extension Effect, I did like the way it looked when applied over the top. Is this going to be the first time I ever layer mascaras?
The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter - RRP $29.95 for 200mL
I received two 8mL sample sachets of the body butter
"The soft, easy-to-blend tip of this pop coloured liner glides along the lash line for an intense outline in one stroke. Plus, the ultra-soft brush perfectly smudges the formula."
As much as I like the sound of this product, I highly doubt that I will use it. I may use open one of the samples but, as a general rule, I really dislike the smell of artificial chocolate. Cocoa butter smells give me a big headache and, well, I just don't like them. As I said, I'll probably try it though!
Givenchy  Pi Neo (for youe Mr. bb) - RRP $80.00 for 50mL
I received a 1mL sample
"Spoil the man in your life with this masculine scent."
Given that I don't have a 'man in my life', I'm tempted to just open this. I love how man smells, well, smell. I will practice self control, however, and give it to my male best friend.
My box also contained a sample of Neutrogena's Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. This product isn't on the card so I'm not sure if it was an accident or an added bonus, but I'll take whatever! Much like the Neutrogena cleanser, I probably won't use this but it's great to have back up and/or options!

That, ladies and gents, was July's Bellabox. I am super impressed with the number of products in this box, 8 in total, especially given that 6 of the products were full sized. The variety of products was great in this month's box too. With the high quality of this month's box, I wonder how next month will compare. Only time will tell!

What did you think of this month's box? What's your favourite product? Are you subscribed to any other beauty subscription services?

Always look your best,
Sophie

  1. I hardly leave a response, but I looked at a few of the comments on this page "Bellabox July, 2012".
I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it's allright.
Could it be simply me or do some of these responses come across as if they
are coming from brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are
posting at additional social sites, I'd like to follow everything fresh you have to
post. Would you make a list of the complete urls of all your social networking sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  2. I've even tried it over colors that used to chip much more frequently
(when I was using less effective top coats), and I've noticed improvement in how long the polish looks good
on my nails. The warmer months can change your skin chemistry, including how much you perspire.
Great ideas for summer scents are plentiful right now with a flurry of new fragrances in the fruity-floral family.
