LUSH Skincare Challenge - Week 11

No, you're not seeing wrong. I have been super lazy and haven't kept you guys updated on my skin in soo long. Sorry! As I mentioned in my Just a Little Update #7 post I've postponed this for so long for a number of reasons (a lot of the time it was too dark to take a clear photo of my skin by the time I got home and washed my make up off) but, all excuses aside, I'm so sorry. Let's just face it, I was lazy!

If you've been reading this blog for a while you'll know that I've spent quite a lot of money at LUSH in recent months, with a majority of the money going towards skincare. I've been trying to clear my skin up and I wanted to try some LUSH skincare products, so it was the perfect time. I set myself a challenge to use ONLY LUSH products for a while (initially it was a month) and document the results, to see the difference in my skin over time and, well, if the regime works for me.

To catch up, here's my progress over the first four weeks -
Just so you all know, especially considering it's changed, my skincare regime is as follows
  • Remove make up at night with  Bioderma Crealine H20 Makeup Remover
  • Cleanse twice a day with Aqua Marina
  • Exfoliate with Ocean Salt once a day (if irritation occurs, this may vary) or work cleanser into the skin with my Garnier Pure Active Exfobrush
  • Tone after every cleanse with Tea Tree Water
  • Moisturise with Vanishing Cream
  • Apply Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion to blemishes at night
It's nothing too complicated, but I wanted to tell you all know how I've been using each of the products. I won't be reviewing each product individually yet, as I want to dedicate a whole post to that, but I'll be going through how my skin has been going. Up until it ran out, I was also using Cosmetic Warrior face mask every couple of days.

I'm really happy with how my skin has been progressing lately, especially when I go back and look at the before photo. Wow. There's not been too much improvement since the Week 4 updates, but it's slowly been getting progressively better.

At the moment I have a couple of blemishes on my chin, as I'm sure you can see in the picture. I think this is partly due to the fact that on Saturday night/Sunday morning I went to bed with a lot of my bridesmaid make up still on. Oops. I attempted to get it all off but, by 3am, I just wanted sleep and they appeared the next day. See ladies, don't be lazy!

The blemishes don't concern me anywhere near as much now. For larger blemishes, I ensure that I work LUSH's Ocean salt exfoliator into the area and I normally find they have drastically reduced in size by the next morning.
Sorry about the most recent photo. It's terrible!
In my opinion, my skin is lot less red too, which is a bonus. I've started wearing less base make up (including Skin 79 Plus Beblesh BB Cream) too.

So, ladies and gents, that's how my skin's been going. Once again, sorry it's been so long! I'm thinking about reviewing the products individually, but it's going to be hard 'cos I started using them all at the same time. What do you think? Would you like individual products reviewed? If so, which ones?

Also, what do you think of my skin? Do you have any tips or tricks for clear skin?  If you have questions about any of the products I used, leave them below and I'll try my best to answer them. If you have LUSH recommendations, let me know them too.

Always look your best,
Sophie

  2. It's looking great, Sophie!
After the Angels on Bare Skin promo last month, I thought I'd give it a go, and completely changed my routine. For about a month now, it has been as follows:
Remove eye makeup with Bioderma Crealine (I gave it another shot and love it for eyes!) and foundation with makeup wipe,
    Cleanse daily with 9-5
Cleanse every 2nd day with Angels on Bare Skin
Exfoliate once a week with Ocean Salt
Mask once or twice a week (depending on how lazy I am) - either Cos Warrior, Mask of Magnaminty (OMG you need to try it!!) or Brazened Honey - whichever I have lying around.
    Tone with Eau Roma Water
Moisturise with Gorgeous (this has started in the last week and I'm obsessed...) morning and night.

My skin has improved out of sight! AND around this time I should be getting hormonal breakouts, but nothing to be seen! It's wonderful!!

  4. Your skin looks much better! I actually use vanishing cream as well & found it helped clear up my skin. I use the herbalism cleanser & Eau de Roma. Another good brand that I sometimes alternate with lush is Moogoo. They have an acne moisturizer called Moogoo acne cleanser (its not a cleanser but it's a moisturizer). It does a good job too, but I think I prefer lush because it smells nicer. I found for me using retin-a cream helps as well. I also only eat/drink organic dairy (not allowed to use hormones in the milk). Switching to organic dairy helped big time and was easy to do. I also take zinc, B vitamins and omega 3 since they're all good for health & skin. I found the organic dairy & the vitamins helped my skin. I tried the organic dairy only for a month as an experiment to see if it would help my acne and it did dramatically.

  5. I smother my skin in Benzoyl Peroxide and avoid Salicylic Acid.
