YSL and Chanel Haul

I've had a pretty bad week this week. There's been a lot going on lately and, to top it all off, I'm sick (as I mentioned in my latest update) so I decided it was time to blow some serious cash. Sounds fair, right?

There's been a couple of Yves Saint Laurent products that I've always wanted to try, but I've always assumed they were completely unobtainable because of the price. After looking into the prices a bit further I realised they're not as expensive as I first thought. Yes, I spent a lot more than I could have today, but it could have also been a lot worse.
I bought three products from YSL today

  • Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in #2 Luminous Ivory - $55.00
  • Rouge Volupte Perle #116 Milky Pink - $55.00
  • Young Sexy Lovely perfume 30mL - $39.00

"Capture 8 hours of sleep with the click of a pen. With a few strokes of this award-winning complexion hiliglighter - dark circles, fine lines and signs of fatigue virtually disappear. Powered by the radiance-boosting Luminocaptide Complex, skin is instantly illuminated, so you look rested and refreshed - even if you've been up for hours."

YSL's Touche Eclat is a product I've been lusting over for ages. A number of my favourite beauty gurus on YouTube use this product and the transformation it can make it incredible. I often find that under eye concealer smudges and, with a formula so thin, the likelihood of the Touche Eclat creasing it very low.
"This creamy and nourishing lipstick is enveloped in a luxurious gold case with the elegant YSL logo. Lips instantly feel soft and supple, drenched in sophisticted colour with a satiny-pearl finihs. The secret - an exclusive blend of nourishing and soothing ingredients combined with pearls to caress lips in sensual shine for irresistible lips. SPF 15"

I've recently started watching a new beauty guru on YouTube, grav3yardgirl, and she's a big fan of the Rouge Volupte lispticks and, after watching her videos, I am too. The colour range is incredible. I bought the lipstick in #116, Milky Pink, and I'm really happy with the colour I got. It's a sheer baby pink with gold shimmer.
"Fun and fashion, Young Sexy Lovely perfume by YSL is the new style and attitude of trendy YSL girls. This irresistible harmony of fresh and feminine, and floral and fruit notes opens with notes of pear, mandarin and redcurrant, sweetened with cherry blossom and magnolia, cooled with peach, and tempered with musk, amber and cedarwood."
- Galaxy Perfume
I blame the sales assistant for this purchase. I was ready to pay for the two other products when she showed me this. I really like the smell of this perfume. It's fresh, fruity and, well, now it's mine.

I was also given three free products from Yves Saint Laurent. I received a black faux leather and fux 'pouch' which I'll probably just use for make up brushes when I go away, a 5mL sample of Forever Youth Liberator Serum and 3mL of Forever Youth Liberator Eye Cream.

I'm still looking for a nice eye cream, so I can't wait to give that a try.

All up, my 'bill' came to $149.00 at Yves Saint Laurent. Considering what I bought, I was pretty happy with that. I don't often splurge on such extravagant pieces of make up but, as I said, I feel like I deserved them after the week I've had. I also had a $20 Myer gift card as I accumulated 2000 points on my MyerOne card, so $20 was deducted from the price.
I've wanted to try Chanel's foundations for a while. The Vitalumiere Aqua (as featured in a previous haul) foundation is a staple for two beauty gurus I love, FleurDeForce and missglamorazzi. I've tried the foundation before and, although I like it, it's not the right one for me. Today, however, I went to Myer and David Jones in search of the perfect Chanel foundation. All up, I received 7 samples. Some of the samples were provided so I could test colours, others were for me to try formulas. Either way, I have a lot to try and I can't wait.

I received the following samples
  • 3 x Perfection Lumiere in B30
  • Lift Lumiere in #20 Clair
  • 2 x Vitalumiere in #20 Clair
  • Vitalumiere Eclat powder in B20
That's everything I bought/received today. As I said, this isn't something I normally do but I'm really glad I invested in a couple of products I've wanted for a while now. It was definitely worth the money.

What do you think of the stuff I bought today? Have you tried it? If so, I'd love to know what you think. Do you wear a Chanel foundation? Which formula do you like the best? Why?

Always look your best,
Sophie

  1. I got the Liberator serum in the latest Glossybox and I have to say I'm impressed! It's pretty exy but I've got a voucher for another sample so might give it a go for longer to convince myself to buy it ;)

    Thanks for sharing!
