It's been quite a while since I last updated you on what's been going on for me and the blog. I haven't posted an for over a month and, given that I'm not feeling the best, I figured it was a good idea.
Firstly, you guys may have noticed that I haven't uploaded a LUSH Skincare Challenge post in over two weeks. Why? Pure laziness and poor time management. By the time I sit down to upload a blog post in the evening, it's too late to get a clear photo of my 'naked' face, so I postpone it for another day or two. I was planning on finally doing it today, actually, but I'm sick. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but I tend to 'break out' slightly when I'm unwell. Given that my face has more blemishes than 'normal', I don't feel it's a true representation of how my skin is going so I've decided to postpone it. As soon as I'm feeling better and my skin clears up, however, it's Skin Challenge time! Until then, however, click the links below to track my skin's progress -
At the moment I'm waiting on three beauty orders (someone really needs to take my debit card away from me!). I ordered the F05 Small Contour Brush from Sigma, Laguna bronzer and a concealer duo from KissAndMakeUpNY and 100mL of Viva La Juicy perfume from My Beauty Spot. These products were all bargains, especially the NARS and perfume order, and I can't wait to haul them for you guys. More information will be uploaded then.
Two weeks ago I ordered some acrylic make up storage from The Make Up Box Shop. I ordered the Large Glamour Box and, as you can see in my haul/review post, I'm a massive fan! My dressing table is a lot more organised now and I feel like everything finally has a home. The only downside, however, is that it's completely full so I'm going to have to buy another one so I can add to my make up collection. I'm hoping my lack of space will put a stop to my excessive purchasing though. Fingers crossed. I will be uploading a make up storage video and/or post when I'm feeling better. At the moment my voice is very husky and that's not necessarily very YouTube friendly.
Last week I was lucky enough to be gifted a new GHD hair straightener. It's the green one from the Limited Edition Peacock Collection and I absolutely love it. I've had my old GHD for over 5 years now, and it was passed down to me when my sister (a hairdresser) bought a newer model. All up, I think it's 7+ years old. Not only is it getting old, but the cord has also been chewed by my cat (I don't think any of the wires have been pierced but I'm still apprehensive about using it). Thanks a lot, Kira (yes, that's her name). Anyway, as I said, I was gifted a new one recently and I can't wait to take a couple of photos and show it to you guys!
Last night I went to see Heston Blumenthal live with my brother in law. No, this is not beauty related at all; I just wanted to share it anyway. Heston Blumenthal is a molecular gastronomist. Basically he uses science in his food. He doesn't just blow things up because he can, however, he does it because it is going to enhance the dish in some way. He also believes in using all the senses when eating. All in all, last night was really interesting and I'm so glad I went.
One last thing - I know people were a bit concerned that the quality of Lust Have It! boxes would decline now they've merged with Glossy Box but, if this month's box was anything to go by, the boxes are getting better! As I said in my May Lust Have It! box post, previous subscribers to GlossyBox will have different boxes to existing Lust Have It! subscribers this month, as GlossyBox already had some stock prepared. Next month will be the true test for the quality of the merged boxes.
