LUSH Skincare Challenge - Week 2

April 11, 2012 | , , ,
If you've seen my LUSH haul (click here) you'll know that I recently spent up big, deciding that I'd use only LUSH skincare for a month to see how my skin reacts/if it clears up. I've been using the products for two weeks now (click here to see my week one results), so I just want to let you all know what's going on and if there's been any progress.

Just so you all know, my skincare regime is as follows
  • I cleanse twice a day with Fresh Farmacy
  • I tone my face after each cleanse with Tea Tree Water
  • I moisturise with Vanishing Cream after toning
  • At night, after cleansing, toning and moisturising, I apply Grease Lightning to blemishes
  • Twice a week I use Cupcake face mask
It's nothing too complicated, but I just wanted to let you all know how I've been using each product. I won't review each product individually yet, as I want to dedicate a whole post to that, but I'll be going through how my skin has been going.
I think this week's results are a lot more promising that Week 1. I still have some pigmentation from the forehead blemishes, but it's almost completely gone.

As you saw in Week 1, a couple of blemishes appeared on my chin. As unappealing as this may sound, this may sound, one of them scabbed up quite back and I didn't think if it was ever going to go. Miraculously though, it was almost gone when I woke up the other morning. The pimples have all drastically reduced in size and they're almost gone.

Last week I asked my Mum if she thought my skin had cleared up at all and, with pity in her eyes, she looked at me and said 'No'. Thanks a lot, Mum! This week, however, was different. I didn't see her for about 4 days as she's a school teacher and was on camp. The day after she came home I, again, asked her if she thought my skin had cleared up at all. This time it was a yes! She said she'd noticed it when she got home but didn't know how much of it was make up. Remember, ladies and gents, my mother is unapologetically honest so she doesn't sugar coat, well, anything!

All in all, I'm really happy and I'm off to do another face mask I think.

No matter how hard I try, I can never get a nice
photo of myself when I'm taking them for this!
In my opinion, my face isn't as red as the photos appear. I think my camera really enhances redness so don't be alarmed!

Anyway, that's it so far. I'll be back next week to share it all with you again. If you have questions about any of the products I used, leave them below and I'll try my best to answer them. If you have LUSH recommendations, let me know them too.

Always look your best,
Sophie

  1. I'm sorry for enabling you. I think there is definitely less redness! I'm currently addicted to Full of Grace serum. Ahhhhh I love it. Well, to be honest, it's only gained my love in the last day. I've always used it under face masks, but I used it last night as a moisturiser (like all the expensive brands have their serums for moisture) after I read it was great for calming redness. My skin was amazing when I woke up! I've had these massive sore spots and they were neither sore or red when I woke up! My pores felt smaller and tighter and my skin was sooo soft. I'm loving it's new use!! And they're $14.95, yay! http://www.lush.com.au/shop/product/product&product_id=624

    1. Thanks, Holly. Yeah, I think it's definitely improved. The results are much better in person though.

    2. Also, you're right, it's not that much at all. I just have to remember to use the face mask 2+ times a week.

  3. Glad you are liking it! They have some beautiful skincare. After 4 weeks you'll find such a big improvement. It takes a while but the results are worth it.

    1. I'm really enjoying it all, yeah. I don't expect results overnight though, definitely not. I'll be uploading these posts for at least 4 weeks so I can review my skins progress.
